Beta Zeta Preservation Project
Written by Britton Eveland
Wednesday, 27 February 2008

Brothers,

I want to personally thank all of the alumni and undergraduate brothers that contributed to the Beta Zeta Preservation Project. At the April 26th, 2008 board meeting the project will be presented to the brothers. The alumni have raised over $1,800 total in contributions which have been used to build a solid dark walnut chest, rebind the aging bio books (which we all signed at initiation), and replace most of our important ritual materials (too secret to discuss openly here). If you are interested in seeing the results of this project, please join us at the annual board meeting.

YITB,
Britton Eveland

New Fundraising Initiative Announced!
Written by Brett Estrade
Thursday, 12 July 2007

Dear Brothers,

As you are probably aware, the Beta Zeta Chapter of Theta Xi is being reorganized. Alumni from several generations are focused on implementing the reorganization plan which has been developed over the past year. Detailed information on the reorganization plan can be viewed at www.bzonline.org.

Beta Zeta has the full support of Auburn University and Theta Xi National Headquarters. The Beta Zeta alumni association has recruited three dedicated recruiters from other Theta Xi chapters to aid in our reorganization efforts at Auburn. Many Beta Zeta Alumni and the National Headquarters staff are mentoring these recruiters. Other Beta Zeta Alumni are managing finance, house maintenance, and alumni event planning. This packet has been sent to you by the Beta Zeta Fundraising Committee.

The goal of this packet is to give you an update on the reorganization, explain Beta Zeta's fundraising plans, and to request your financial support.

If you know that you are not interested in financially contributing, please read no further. To ensure that you do not receive any more correspondence from the Beta Zeta Fundraising committee, please email with the title "unsubscribe BZ fundraising". And please consider attending some of the upcoming events. Your brotherhood, leadership, stories, and life experience are more valuable than any financial contribution.

If you are still reading this, fantastic!! Please allow us to give you a brief overview of the Beta Zeta financials and fundraising. Today, our chapter has negligible debt. And you are probably aware that 835 West Magnolia is currently rented to Kappa Sigma. While it is tough to see 835 occupied by another fraternity, we are fortunate to be receiving significant rental income (Beta Zeta will be reoccupying 835 in the near future). So the cash-flow and debt picture look good. However, we have some expenses, most of which stem from building and fire code upgrades to the house. In addition, we plan to incur substantial general expenses for the reorganization. These costs include tuition and rent for the undergraduate recruiters that have moved to Auburn to aid us in restarting Beta Zeta.

The fundraising committee has been charged with raising $100,000 by the end of 2007. That would allow Beta Zeta to meet code requirements, fund reorganization, offer academic scholarships, and perform minor renovations to the house. To date, about $35,000 has been raised. We are asking for your support to meet the $100,000 goal.

Thus far, contributions have ranged from $62.94 contributions to above the $10,000 level.

In addition to the $100,000 goal, Beta Zeta is testing the waters for a separate fundraising campaign targeted at major capital improvements and/or building a new house at 835. Brothers listed on the 6294 insert are available to discuss this initiative in detail.

Beta Zeta understands that deciding to financially contribute is a significant decision. Hopefully the enclosed FAQs and other inserts provide you with the information you need to make a decision. If not, please contact myself or any of the alumni listed on the 6294 insert. Above all, we look forward to seeing you at Beta Zetas upcoming events.

Sincerely and YITB,
Zachary Scott / Fundraising Committee Chairman
