Underlying Themes: Unless BZ realizes a dramatic shift in revenue, existing house at 835 will be a beach-head for the foreseeable future. Lack of presentable, central meeting area - and events - has pushed alumni away from 835 during Auburn events and other occasions. We want to change that trend. Undergraduates have higher expectations w/ regard to living standards. Auburn now offers a large variety of housing options. Statistically, undergrads are less likely to live in-house. 835 likely has too many dorm rooms and not enough amenities vs demand. Specific goals will boost productivity of fundraising campaigns. Focus spending on places where there is a direct link to the income production aspects of the property. To the extent possible, utilize in-house work force to save money, and instill sense of care for the facility as part of the fraternity experience.
BZ board has ratified and prioritized project list. Priority can be changed if the donor wishes to make a majority earmarked contribution. Otherwise we risk multiple partially funded projects. All contributors will receive permanent recognition mounted at 835. If an alumnus donates more than 50% of estimate project cost, it will be named in his honor.
